Windows Updates Taking Forever to Download Getting KB4051033 to download is like watching paint dry. Powerpoint note taking software mac. I'm on a fibre network connection and Win 7 updates download like lightning, but Win 10 updates take forever.

That's great -- especially if those updates continue to be free of charge. What's not so great is the amount of time your computer is out of service when the updates try to install. That goes double if you're trying to get work done when your machine decides to restart. All you can do is wait the process out and hope for the best.
When previous major updates were shipped, Microsoft clocked the average amount of time that users spent offline at 82 minutes. That dropped to just under an hour when the Fall Creators Update arrived.
With the Spring Creators Update, downtime has been reduced by more than half. Microsoft says that you'll only be offline for about 30 minutes.
Here's how they sped the process up so dramatically. When your Windows 10 computer install a major update it goes through two phases, one online (during which you can continue using your computer) and one offline (when you're staring at a progress screen). With previous updates, most of the heavy lifting was done during the offline phase.
That's changing in the Spring Creators Update. Best anti hacking software for mac. Microsoft is shifting to a system that's similar to the one in Google Chrome. When Chrome receives an update, the new files are pulled down and set up in temporary folder. When you close and restart Chrome, the updated files are quickly copied over the old ones that need to be replaced.
The update process will take a lot longer with Windows 10 that it would with Chrome, since it's the entire operating system being updated and not just one app. Since Windows will do most of the setup silently in the background you likely won't even notice anything happening.. not until you're prompted to restart.Windows 10 Download Iso 64-bit
Knowing that the Windows 10 Spring Creators Update is on the way, you may want to make sure you've set your restart schedule. Just pop open the settings app, click update and security, and click the restart options link in the middle of the screen. You can then set a convenient time for your computer to restart, like the middle of the night when you're sound asleep.
